Step 1. Booking Your Photo Session

Once you’ve submitted your inquiry form, we’ll connect to chat through your session options. Together, we’ll choose the perfect date and time to bring your vision to life.

From there, you’ll just need to sign the session agreement Once that is in, your session is officially booked and on the calendar!

Let the countdown to adorable memories begin!

Step 2. Pre-Session Questionnaire

Before your scheduled session, you’ll receive a short questionnaire to help me get to know you and your small companion(s) a little better, what their days look like, any special quirks or routines, and what kind of images you’re dreaming of. This is also where you can share important details like food preferences, habitat needs, or any behavioral notes I should know ahead of time.

Whether it’s a hamster who loves to stash treats, a curious gecko who climbs everything, a bird with plenty to say, or a snake who prefers a calm hand, I am excited for every new experience brought my way and knowing these things helps me keep the session safe, smooth, and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Step 3. Your Photo Session

When session day rolls around, we take it slow especially at the start. I’ll let your pet(s) get familiar with me, my camera, and the space so they feel safe and settled.

We might give them a little extra time to explore, let them check out the setup, or simply hang back and observe until they’re ready. The vibe is easygoing and relaxed so we can capture those honest, unscripted moments the tiny stretches, curious climbs, wing flutters, and playful peeks that make your companion so unique.

You just show up, love on your critters, and let the moments unfold.

Step 4. Final Editing Process

Once your session wraps up, I’ll carefully sort through all the images and select the very best the ones that capture the personality of your pet, the little quirks you adore, and the moments worth remembering. No need to sift through hundreds yourself; I’ll curate a gallery filled with the ones that truly matter.

From there, your photos head into my editing queue, where I enhance colors, tidy up distractions, and bring out the details that make your companion shine whether it’s the sparkle of tiny eyes, the shimmer of scales, or the fluff of soft feathers. Turnaround time varies with the season, but I’ll always share an estimated delivery date so you know when to expect your finished gallery.

Step 5. Your Online Gallery

Once your final edits are complete, you’ll receive a link to your personal online gallery filled with beautifully edited, high-quality images that showcase the heart and personality of your small companions.

From there, you can download both high-resolution files (perfect for printing) and web-sized versions (great for sharing). You’ll also have access to a thoughtfully curated store where you can order prints, canvases, albums, and other keepsakes that bring those tiny-yet-mighty memories to life.

Your gallery will stay active for one year, though I always recommend downloading and backing up your images to a computer and cloud storage to keep them safe for the future.

Step 6. Time to Turn Photos into Keepsakes!

Your gallery isn’t just for looking it’s also a one-stop shop for turning your favorite images into wall-worthy art. Choose from gorgeous prints, albums, framed pieces, and more right from your gallery.

Want to print somewhere else? Totally fine! Just make sure to use the high-res files so your images stay sharp and beautiful. Need advice? I’m happy to help!

Step 7. Enjoy What Matters Most

Now for the best part enjoying your images. Whether you frame them for your walls, create a stunning album to flip through, or share your favorites online, these photos are meant to be seen and loved.

They tell the story of a animal that deserves to be celebrated every single day. Don’t let them sit forgotten on a hard drive bring them into your world and let them bring joy for years to come.

Capturing Your Small Companion

Photography sessions for small pets are typically held in your home where your companion feels safe, secure, and comfortable. Being in a known environment helps reduce stress, keeps your pet relaxed, and allows me to capture their natural behaviors in a way that truly reflects their personality.

By photographing your pet in a space where they feel at ease, I can capture the small, intimate moments that make them unique, the curious tilts of their head, the playful hops, the delicate flick of a tail, or the gentle flutter of feathers. These sessions are designed to be calm and stress-free, giving your pet time to settle, explore, and express themselves naturally. With the right lighting, props, and patience, even the tiniest companion can shine in images that will be treasured for years to come.

For Your Feathered Companion

  • Timing: Schedule your session when your bird is most active and alert usually right before they’ve eaten and had some time to stretch their wings.
  • Environment: Clear any distractions, noisy appliances, or other pets from the area where we’ll photograph, so your bird can stay calm.
  • Lighting: Natural light works best, so having a well-lit room or placing your bird near a window is ideal. If natural lighting isn’t ideal, I can bring artificial lights just give me a heads-up beforehand.
  • Toys & Treats: Have their favorite toys, perches, or healthy treats readily available to keep your bird engaged and comfortable.
  • Safety: Ensure cages, stands, and perches are secure; if your bird is welcome to free-flying, be mindful of open doors or windows.

For Your Scaled Companion

  • Timing: Schedule your session when your reptile is most active usually during their normal awake periods, depending on species.
  • Environment: Prepare a calm, quiet space free of distractions, loud noises, or other pets to keep your companion relaxed.
  • Lighting: Natural light highlights the colors and patterns of scales beautifully. If natural lighting isn’t sufficient, I can bring artificial lights just let me know ahead of time.
  • Props & Habitat: Have their favorite hides, branches, or perches ready to create comfortable, natural settings.
  • Temperature & Safety: Ensure the enclosure is secure and that the room is at a comfortable temperature for your reptile. Never place your pet in a situation that could cause stress or risk of injury.

For Your Hamster, Gerbils, Mice, and Other Tiny Critters

  • Timing: Schedule the session when your hamster or small pet is most active, usually during their awake period in the evening or after a nap. Another option is to hold food for a day, if your hamster or small pet is prone to hiding this can sometimes be helpful.
  • Environment: Provide a quiet, calm space free from distractions, loud noises, or other pets to help your rodent stay relaxed.
  • Lighting: Natural light works beautifully, but I can bring artificial lighting if needed just let me know ahead of time.
  • Props & Comfort: Have favorite tunnels, toys, bedding, or treats handy to keep your hamster engaged and happy.
  • Safety: Ensure cages or play areas are secure, and supervise any out-of-cage exploration to prevent escapes or accidents.

For Your Bunny

  • Timing: Schedule the session when your rabbit is most alert and active, usually right before they’ve eaten and had time to stretch.
  • Environment: Prepare a quiet, calm area free from loud noises or other pets to keep your bunny relaxed.
  • Lighting: Natural light works best, but I can bring artificial lighting if needed just let me know ahead of time.
  • Props & Comfort: Have favorite toys, tunnels, blankets, or treats ready to keep your bunny engaged and happy.
  • Safety: Ensure cages, playpens, or open spaces are secure, and supervise any free-roaming time to prevent accidents.

Trust the Process

Your pet may need time to get comfortable, and that’s okay! Relaxed, natural moments make the most memorable photos.
